Field application engineer

Function description

• The main responsibility is (on a sole base) accurately assessing customer needs, matching them
  with current products or proposing new product concepts for further development, with results :
  • New business - customer approvals.
  • Support applications using the leading edge or "sexy" products.
  • External engineering on customer premises (in Dutch; gedetacheerd)
• The FAE as ConXys leading contact will work and get support from development & product
  engineers, to go from product concept to a developed, NPI, product.
• The FAE will keep abreast of evolving market and competitor technologies through, (external-)
  Study, Literature, Trade shows and Technical forums.
• The FAE will perform at the request of senior management other tasks, such as attending
  standards organizations, working trade shows and spear-heading special projects.
• The FAE will perform the function within the stated business objectives.
• The FAE will report on need to know base towards his FAE Manager and towards directors
  (considering the aim of max. 12-15 ConXys employees in total the leading FAE will be officially
  announced as FAE-Manager)
• The FAE will technically support on request ConXys Sales rep's

Function reviews

• The objectives and goals will be reviewed and adjust minimum ones a year by directors/ management to secure personal performances related to market evaluations and trends.
• A yearly function/salary review, measured:
  • Performance measure #1 : Completed CRL (customer requirements list).
  • Performance measure #2: Present Technical road-shows to customers design groups.
  • Performance measure #3: Raise Customer survey score for the accounts/respondents.
  • Performance measure #4: AVL approvals by value and quantity.
  • Performance measure #5: Customer visits to technical centres.

Basic level of skills

• Demonstrated basic knowledge of applications used in the Cable assembly market segments.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and implement cost analysis of various design options
• Good inter-personal skills to motivate co-workers and drive projects internally, and to present a
  competent image of ConXys to the customers engineering and commercial organizations.
• Demonstrated system level packaging knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to use some CAD software in the product concept phase.
• Demonstrated MTS technical level, preferable HTS level by schooling or by life experience
• Highly skilled in normal available Windows programs' and basic skilled in ICT solutions

Demonstrated communication skills for interfacing with customers, marketing, engineering and
manufacturing on a worldwide basis while understanding the technical and business needs of each
organization.
